Midnight Madness Press Release - Island Water Sports
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Midnight Madness – 25th Anniversary – Biggest Year Ever
Deerfield Beach, FL (Oct 20, 2010)-Island Water Sports hosted its 25th
year of Midnight Madness on October 15th, 2010.
The event started at 8am and lasted until midnight. By the end of the
night, an estimated 15,000 people had filled the streets, making this
the largest Midnight Madness ever. The event helped raise money for
local charities including: Christian Skaters, Surfers for Autism, and
Grind for Life.
Midnight Madness was the 1st of many events that will be presented by
the Island Partnership of Deerfield Beach. The Island Partnership is
a 501C ( 6 ) organization that was formed to implement economic
development opportunities within the City of Deerfield Beach. They did
just that with Midnight Madness. Record sales were had during the
event at Island Water Sports and at the surrounding businesses.
Throughout the day Midnight Madness showcased a series of interactive
stations, vendor tents, featured bands, celebrities and artists
providing live demonstrations and tons of giveaways throughout the
day. Featured musical guests included: Alexander, Buffalo Gun, BLORR,
Dark Horse Saloon and Hanna, Cadence and Because Greatness Belongs.
Other interactive activities included the Skull Candy Skate Park
featuring Kulcha Shok’s Lance-O DJ’ing and Ramp 48’s half pipe. Pro
skaters’ Chad Tim Tim, Christian Hosoi, Jud Heald, Brian Sumner and
Josh Harmony provided live demonstrations. Local artists The Froelich
Brothers, and Tanner Kaufman created a spectacle while painting live
at the event while Patrick Maxcy created a beautiful mural that was
auctioned off at the end of the event to benefit charities.
Event sponsors included Island Water Sports, Island Partnership,
Quiksilver, Roxy, Skull Candy, Nike 6.0, DNA Energy Drink, Vans, Ramp
48+, Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale, Chick-fil-A, Muscle Milk, Oceans
234, Ocean Trust Realtors, The Buccaneer Resort, Comfort Inn, JB’s,
and Bru’s Room.
