Greg Carson, Welcome To The Team

X-Trak is stoked to welcome PR's own pro SUP rider Greg Carson  to the team. Greg has proven himself by winning the Central international Surf Pro at Puerto Escondido in 15-20 ft surf. He is an avid waterman and also owner of Taino Divers (http://www.tainodivers.com/) on the island. We look forward to big thing from Greg in the future.

Also Greg has been working with a wounded warrior project for the past 5 years. It is called SUDS (Soldiers Undertaking Disabled Scuba)  http://www.sudsdiving.org/ . They teach the wounded soldiers how to scuba dive and then take them on scuba adventures around the world. It is a huge confidence builder while facilitating their rehabilitation.

ESA Southeast Regional SUP Invitational

The Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) is branching out into the world of Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP). The annual ESA Southeast Regional event hosted the ESA Southeast SUP Invitational. Eighteen of the East Coast’s top SUP Surfers bashed and hacked the waves at the Inlet in New Smyrna Beach.
The event was held over two days with the first round consisting of three heats with six paddlers in each heat. The top scoring paddler from each heat went straight through to the finals. The next two top scoring paddlers in each heat went through to the “death match”. The top three paddlers in the “death match” joined the previous winners in a six paddler final.
The waves on Saturday for the first round started off pumping but with the outgoing tide and a change in wind direction right before the first heat made things challenging. Still some incredible surfing was on tap. Sunday was a different story. The waves died down a notch but clean waist-chest high peaks were coming through to deliver a great final.
Finals:
1st – Rob Bitzkowski
2nd – Giorgio Gomez
3rd – Ty Miller
4th – Evan Magee
5th – Todd Waskuch
6th – Iain McFarland

Another Starboard featuring a hybrid X-Trak SUP kit

Nice looking board belonging to Steve Sjuggerud from SUP Journal. Steve used a few X-Trak kits to create his own unique pad.

Check out The Jammer 8’6″ at Stand Up Paddle Sport

Hi,
This photo is from the Stand Up Paddle Sports Blog: http://blog.surfingsports.com/ They have been a huge supporter of X-Trak and we'd like to say a belated thank you. Take a look at this: The Jammer 8’6″

StandUp Paddle Sports has the largest, and best, selection of SUP's in the UNIVERSE at our store in Santa Barbara, CA. Over 150 standup paddle boards currently in stock...with new SUP's arriving weekly.

The Jammer 8’6″

You’ve seen the teasers…now, it’s time to reveal the Jammer…yet another innovative design collaboration between Art Colyer of North Pacific Surfboards, and myself…
This wide point back, high performance 8’6″ x 31.5″ is perhaps the most significant surfing SUP design change to come along in years…the volume is redistributed and jammed back into the tail where it is surfed and paddled…in regular surfing stance…amazing stability and maneuverability is achieved by a more efficient distribution of volume…

We give a nod to legendary Australian shaper, Geoff McCoy, who developed the Lazor Zap which radically reduced nose width to allow the development of the Thruster by Simon Anderson…he also shaped my first Thruster, the 6’0″ in my 1981 quiver…the start of the thruster revolution…
Geoff McCoy, has always marched to his own drum…same here…
Over the last couple of decades, the Lazor Zap has been further refined by Geoff McCoy and Cheyne Horan into the Nugget…which influenced my thinking to transform the wide point back idea into a SUP…for the last couple of years I kept asking myself, what would George (Greenough) do?…

SUP Traction Made in the U.S.A.

Knowledge makes the difference. All we do is traction. We make our pads ourselves in our own factory here in the US. How many other companies can say that?

Here is innovative surfer, grincher and SUP rider Josh Sleigh doing it his way.

Order online or ask for them at your local shop.
