Corey Howell has got it going on

The Slater Brothers Invitational is this coming weekend. Corey and his friend Sam raised over $550 to participate in the Surfing with the Stars Team Event for The World Skin Care Foundation. Because they raised the most money of all of the teams, they got first pick of the Pro they wanted on their team. This morning, the boys found out that they got to pick two Pros to surf with instead of one. So, they have chosen Kelly and CJ!! Corey is so excited!

Jasset on Fuel TV's "The Weekly Update"

Jasset was interviewed by Fuel TV after her win at The Surfing America Prime West October 3 Church Beach San Onofre.
The event began airing on "The Weekly Update" on Saturday. It will air 28 times during this week.

Melbourne Beach surfer tapped as a top junior

Melbourne Beach's Jasset Umbel has been recognized as one of the top junior surfers in the country.

Umbel has been selected to be part of the 2009-2010 PacSun USA Junior Team as one of two surfers on the developmental squad as a "future prospect."

The 18-and-under girls squad includes Courtney Conlogue, Lakey Peterson, Kaleigh Gilchrist, Quincy Davis and Taylor Pitz. Catherine Clark is the other member.

Among the boys: Evan Thompson, Evan Geiselman and Kolohe Andino.

Ripcurl grom search

The Ripcurl grom search took place yesterday at NSB. The top groms from Florida and carribean battle it out for the chance to compete in OZ. Couple of our groms did exceptional. First and second place goes onto the national Grom Search Championships at Salt Creek in the fall and then winners from that go to the intl championships in Australia next spring. The surf was 2-3 ft and semi clean.

The Billabong ISA games are over and the USA took home gold. France second and Australia third. X-Trak Team rider Austin Ware did his share to contribute to the victory and put in a great performance. Go USA!

A friendly letter from Kyle to Frieda...

Hi Frieda,

I got 1st place overall in the Sun Diego Surf Series 13-14 division. I got 2nd place at the last contest of the points series a couple weeks ago and I also won the bonus event today. The bonus event was just for fun at the end of the year, and it was man on man heats. The surf was bad, but I was stoked because I got some good waves in the final and won on count backs.
